We’re looking for a Sensory Analyst to support our Product Understanding team and play a hands-on role in bringing sensory science to life through panel execution and data-driven insights.
What you’ll do:
Think of this role as the “engine room” of the panel—where great sensory work gets organized, executed, and translated into meaningful insights.
As a Sensory Analyst, you’ll partner closely with Panel Leaders and the broader Product Understanding team to keep everything running smoothly—from planning sessions to delivering high-quality data. You’ll work hands-on with a sensory panel that evaluates a wide range of food and aroma products, helping ensure evaluations are consistent, reliable, and insightful.

Background
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with a sensory science or related background
- 1–3 years of relevant experience (internships or academic experience considered)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Become versed in Spectrum Descriptive Analysis methods. Learn all protocols required to support panel evaluations (may include taste, texture, aroma, visual, and feel evaluations of a variety of consumer products).
- Support the Panel Leader or Project Manager in planning and execution of their studies.
- Ensure daily operation of the panel by ensuring all materials are ready for each session (products, ballots, protocols, necessary panel supplies…)
- Assess and update established evaluation protocols on as needed basis
- Manage data to include scheduling data entry, proofing, and sending data as appropriate
- Interact with consultants and clients to ensure clear understanding of project objectives, progress, product tracking, timelines and deliverables.
- Support study reporting to include review and formatting of data, working with analysis team, and developing tables to report study related information
- Work with other Panel Leaders in Sensory Spectrum locations to build skills and share responsibilities to include serving as a back-up panel leader for another panel and/or traveling taster
- Work with consultants when additional panel training is required
- Maintain and shop for panel supplies
